Project: What is being planned?

Aim of the project

  • develop biomethane production in the Legnica region
  • produce renewable gas and reduce dependence on fossil energy sources
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • strengthen regional energy security and resilience
  • contribute to regional economic development and local employment
  • support local agriculture through cooperation with farmers and use of organic residues
  • improve the local nutrient cycle by converting manure into renewable gas and organic fertilizer

The diagram illustrates the main process steps, from feedstock input to gas production and fertilizer output.

Project status

  • The project locations are currently in the planning phase
  • environmental and technical studies are still required
  • permit procedures (including the Environmental Decision – ED) must be completed
  • no construction can take place before all required decisions are made

What such an installation does

  • converts organic materials into renewable gas (biomethane)
  • produces digestate, used as organic fertilizer in agriculture
  • separates and manages by-products such as CO₂ in a controlled and re-usable way
  • connects to the national gas grid
